We can design a system comprising of a single camera and monitor to a multi camera system with digital recording and remote image transmission.
Consideration must be given to the area of the image required and the lighting levels required, i.e. images required at night will require a day / night camera and also may need additional lighting.
DVR:
Digital recorder replacing the old video recorder. Can include a CD rewriter for recording images from the hard drive. Also may include a LAN connection for IT integration.
Dome Camera:
A fixed camera in dome housing or a fully functional camera in a domed housing.

Typical Functional Dome:
Fully functional cameras can be manipulated using a control keyboard and one camera can view many different areas, including a zoom lens.
Fixed Camera:
Can be mounted simply internally or within a weatherproof housing externally. Can be mono or colour. For best external results a day night unit will automatically sense low light and switch from colour to mono for an improved low light capability.
Remote Monitoring:
This is costly, but the facility to arm and disarm a CCTV system exists. Once armed, movement sensors mounted adjacent to the cameras, if activated, can initiate a special unit to transmit images to a remote monitoring centre. This is normally connected to a dedicated fixed IP addressed Broadband line.
Consideration should be given to the clarity of the picture and location that is to be viewed. Also consider when you are required to view the location e.g. day or night time. Extra lighting may be required in some circumstances e.g. night time recording.
